Our heart:

We love teenagers! We believe in teenagers! That is why it's our desire to equip this generation to love Jesus with all their hearts for all of their days. To live in the love of God and intimacy with Jesus through the Holy Spirit unlocks heaven to our hearts. Things like depression, anxiety, and temptation have no place for power in the life of a kid who’s heart burns for God — who knows that they’re known and loved by Their Maker. Let it be!

About Jacob & Jordan

Jacob Hall serves as our "Next Generation" pastor. Together he and his wife, Jordan, work and disciple our teenagers. They’ve been a part of this family for many years and have given countless hours in laboring for the advancement of God’s kingdom. Both of them are talented musicians who absolutely love to worship Jesus! After high school they attended the Desperation Leadership Academy in Colorado Springs at Newlife Church where they studied classes on the place of prayer ministry, teaching ministry, and music ministry. Jacob and Jordan’s heart is simply to encourage believers in their intimacy with Jesus, empower their creativity through their God-given gifts, and to grow in love beyond all worldly limitations.

Sermon series: Backwards Kingdom

Discipleship tool

Over and over again we read in our Bible of the counter-cultural lifestyle we're called to as Christians. As we follow Jesus we begin to feel pretty quickly the tension of being in the world, but not of it. And hallelujah! We've been chosen by God to live set apart for his glory. This month we want to empower your teens to know the everlasting assurance we have in God, no matter how uncomfortable life can get.

In order to herald "His Kingdom come!", it takes a re-wiring of our brains; a re-evaluation of what we deem valuable, and a joyful boldness to live set apart.

Scripture references
1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Matthew 19:30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

Matthew 23:11-12 The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Discussion prompts/questions
1. What are the things you don't mind standing out in? What are the things you do? Why?
2. How does it feel to know you're called to be peculiar? According to the scripture, what does that mean?
3. Where do you see the differences between God's Kingdom and the world's?
4. Why are many so easily swayed to the things opposite of God's Kingdom?
5. How have you experienced joy in your counter cultural lifestyle with God?

Get to know your teen!

These simple prompts/questions will help unlock the special moments between you and your teen that you’ve been longing for. These will also help you see into them and will show them that you care. Give them a try!
1. Ask them what they care about.
  • What’s the best thing going on in life right now?
  • What’s the hardest thing?
  • What bands or musicians are you listening to these days and what do you like about them?
  • Do you prefer to stand out, or to blend in? Why do you think that is?
2. Embrace the tension
  • Sit with them in their questioning. Give them time to explore their own thoughts on whatever the subject may be before you rush in to give them your answers.
3. Listen well!
  • Listen first to understand, not to respond. When the time is right, then respond with your guidance.

The Mission
We believe passionately about shepherding and raising up tomorrow's worship leaders to lead in spirit and truth, just as Jesus mentions in John 4:23.

"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him."

We emphasize not only the practicalities of musicianship for worship leaders, but also spiritual growth and maturity. By the means of worshpping Jesus together, teachings, interactive breakout sessions, and band practices, we're inviting teens to cultivate a lifestyle of worshiping Jesus.

Tutorial videos
Worship workshops is not for those who don't currently know how to play an instrument.

While we do want to champion and support that in teens, our aim is set on those that can already demonstrate the basic fundamentals of playing their instrument. If you are student who would like to join but isn't ready, check out the link below. There you'll find Reliance's YouTube channel and a playlist with tutorial videos that show you our standards of skill required for workshops.
